The channel was originally launched in 2013 as a passion project of a former networks television executive and a technology entrepreneure after envisioning a world of streaming media even before Youtube existed.

To celebrate the coming end of the most horrid year, pandemic and social upheaval of the founder's lives, they have decided to celebrate a brighter future by endowing the  current ZoneOut TV 2021 iteration of the channel and making it absolutely open and free to all viewers for the year 2021.
